Choice & Accountability: Modest Fashion Project

Value Project:  Choice & Accountability (It's the 1st suggested project on p. 50 of your book)
Dates: Summer 2011
Leaders: Sister Stevens, Olsen, and Davis

We have been working on a 3-part Modest Fashion project for Choice & Accountability.

Part 1:  Modest Fashion Lesson and Handout
Date: May 25, 2011
Participants: Maya, Linly, Callie, Kylie, Michaela, Olivia, Jessica, Rachel

We learned and discussed why it's important to be modest using "For the Strength of Youth" and various talks on modesty. Then we learned ways to modify modern clothing to be modest and fashionable and we discussed where to find modest clothing. Click HERE for information from the handout.

Part 2:  Making Peek-a-Boo Slips
Date: June 20, 2011
Participants:  Michaela, Linly, Cassie, Jessica, Rachel, Jerri, Cherrish, Valera

We used this tutorial to make Peek-a-Boo slips with lace that is meant to extend below the length of short skirts to make them long enough! We made them in white so they will match several different skirts or dresses.

Part 3:  Modest Fashion Show
Coming Soon! Begin preparing your 3 outfits using the techniques you've learned to modify clothing to be more modest:  1) A dressy outfit; 2) A school outfit; 3) An active wear outfit
